New FMHL Jersey Rules

Starting with the Summer 2008 season of the Findlay Men’s Hockey League, we will be instituting a new set of rules with regards to the Jerseys that are provided to players within our league.

There will no longer be a $30 jersey deposit required as part of your league fees.

Every rostered skater will receive a team jersey prior to skating in their first league game.  Goalies will have the option of wearing their own jersey or using an FMHL provided jersey. (provided that the color of their own jersey does not match the opposing teams)

All jerseys are required to be returned to FMHL at the completion of the season in which they were used.  Jerseys are expected to be in a SIMILAR CONDITION upon their return as they were when handed out.   A league representative will be at the final scheduled game for each team at the end of each season to collect all jerseys.  If you are not at the final game of the season for any reason, it is up to YOU to make sure we get the jersey back.  A deadline date and location to return the jerseys to (for those not collected at the final game) will be posted at the rink and on the web site prior to the end of each session.  Any jersey not returned by the deadline date will result in the player not being allowed to register, or play in, any FMHL game from that point forward.   The player will not be allowed to participate in any FMHL games until the jersey is returned and a $50 re-instatement fee is paid.   Bottom line is this:  Make sure YOU return the jersey to us.

Existing teams (that continue to pay sponsorship) will be grandfathered in, and will therefore continue to use their existing jerseys.  Collection of these jerseys (Teams such as BW3, CMI, Centennial, Carter Lumber, Jeffery Jewelry, Marathon White, Marathon Blue, etc.) will fall under the same set of new rules.  (No jersey deposit paid, but players are required to return the jersey at seasons end)  If we do not have a FULL SET of these jerseys (14 players and 5 sub jerseys) they WILL NOT be used going forward.

There are a few other teams that had an individual person purchase jerseys for the team.  They will be allowed to continue using those jerseys.   FMHL will not be responsible for these jerseys as we do not own them.  Teams such as (Sewer Sharks, Hurricane Express, Tabler Tornados, etc) will be allowed to continue to use those jerseys.  It is the responsibility of the person who provided the jersey to collect them from those teams.

Purchasing a new set of jerseys will no longer be part of the team sponsorship from local and area businesses.  The large up front costs of purchasing a new set of jerseys is what keeps many businesses from sponsoring teams in our league.
